The data, including information from a squad that specializes in crimes committed by foreigners, may have been distributed through file-swapping software, investigative sources told Kyodo News. The breach was uncovered as the force is beefing up security before the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum, which includes a summit in November in Yokohama.
